• Create clear pathways for youth success by expanding access to college, military, and skilled trade opportunities through career readiness and mentorship programs.

• Address gun violence with accountability by promoting responsible firearm access, stronger safeguards, and community-centered safety solutions.

• Invest in youth safety infrastructure by supporting safe public spaces, after-school programs, and community resources that protect and empower young people.

Harold A. Pope believes leadership is about listening — not lecturing. He’s committed to hosting open town halls, partnering with neighborhood organizations, and keeping the doors of state government open to every resident. • Protect fair wages by enforcing Michigan’s prevailing wage laws so workers are paid what they’ve earned and local standards aren’t undercut.

• Stand with workers and unions by strengthening union infrastructure and defending the right to organize for fair pay, benefits, and dignity on the job.

• Strengthen the Earned Income Tax Credit by protecting and building on Michigan’s expanded EITC to put more money back in the pockets of working families.

• Ensure safe, fair workplaces by holding employers accountable so no worker is forced into unsafe conditions or underpaid labor.

Our seniors should never have to worry about losing the healthcare or income they earned through a lifetime of work. Harold will fight tirelessly to protect and strengthen these critical programs.

• Protect earned benefits by defending Social Security and Medicare from cuts or privatization—keeping the promises made to our seniors.

• Lower prescription costs by expanding access to affordable medications and holding drug companies accountable for price gouging.

• Support seniors at home by strengthening elder care oversight and investing in in-home caregiver services so older adults can live independently with dignity.

• Prevent financial abuse by creating stronger protections to safeguard vulnerable adults from fraud, exploitation, and scams.

As a U.S. Army Veteran himself, Harold knows how complicated it can be for veterans to access the benefits they’ve earned. He wants no veteran left behind, especially those living with health challenges or trying to rebuild their civilian lives. 

• Expand access to benefits by launching a Veteran Outreach and Access Initiative that connects veterans to healthcare, housing, and earned services.

• Provide real support through navigation by funding community-based veteran navigators to help former service members successfully navigate complex VA systems.

• Improve healthcare outcomes by partnering with providers to ensure timely follow-up care and expanded mental health services—especially for veterans with chronic conditions and cancer survivors.

• Create pathways to employment by prioritizing hiring incentives for employers who actively recruit, retain, and support veterans.
