The Michigan Primary is on August 4, 2026!

Get ready to exercise your right to vote in the following ways:

  1. Skip the Election Day lines by voting early:

    Your city or township clerk will provide at least nine days of in-person early voting before every state and federal election. Mark your ballot and submit it on the spot by placing it in the tabulator.

  2. Vote by Absentee Ballot:

    Any registered Michigan voter can request an absentee ballot from their city or township clerk—no excuse is required.

    After completing your ballot, you may return it in one of four ways:

  3. In-person on Election Day:

    Go to your polling place and vote in-person. You can put your ballot in the tabulator once you have finished marking your ballot.

    Visit Michigan.gov/Vote to find important information, including:

  • The status of your registration

  • Your early voting location

  • Your Election Day voting location (which may differ from your early voting location).

  • How to contact your city or township clerk

  • Your congressional and state house and state senate districts.

  • A preview of your ballot.

  • By postage-paid mail

  • At a secure ballot dropbox location

  • In-person to your city or township clerk

  • At your early voting site, where you can insert your completed ballot directly into the tabulator.
